Nephew and niece have to undergo Alcohol rehab
Our family is in deep stress right now. Two members of the family have to go through Adolescent Addiction Treatment and Alcohol Rehab. It’s a devastating situation to be in. Adolescent drug rehab has been quite normal in our area, however, finding a member of your family to be in this situation is really not good. It’s been really hard for the family because all the teenagers now are being restricted. They have stricter rules now because of what’s happening. Like with my three kids who have been really good. They too are not allowed to go with their friends because my husband is getting paranoid with the whole situation. My mother would tell us that if we’re there for our children, this won’t happen. However, with the environment right now, I don’t think that it’s enough that a family has good values. We have to be alert on everything. We have to talk to our kids and let them know what’s going happen if they get involved on these kind of situations. My children know the effect of drug use and alcoholism because they have seen how these ruin the lives of their friends but we can never be lax on this. Anything can happen. We trust our children but with everything that’s been happening around us, it’s so hard to trust. The parents of my niece and nephew have been so frustrated and depressed because they can’t help but blame themselves for what’s happening. I told them that we’ll go through this together and after everything, things will be back to its old self. We just have to learn our lesson on this and move on. We can’t continue on blaming each other for what happened. In life, we face problems that teach us how to be stronger and become a better person.
